One of Jean Stampe & Maurice Vertongen’s finest, this superb 1948 Stampe is being offered for sale exclusively with Eagles Eleven. The Stampe not only stood out from the crowd with its aerobatic finesse it was also a very successful trainer used by the Royal Air Force, Belgium Air Force and the French Army. During May of 1950 this Stampe joined the infamous Patrouille d’Étampes. Post 1955 under the registration F-BGGU she was positioned at the state flying school of Saint-Yan, whilst based at Saint Yan the aircraft became part of the World renowned Patrouille de Saint-Yan. UK based since 1990 as G-BRXP.
This aircraft benefits from the addition of a Gipsy Major 10/2 carried out in 1990 and offering the luxury of an electric starter, just 50 engine hours since top overhaul, which was undertaken by the experts at Vintech. The airframe has 585 hours since full nut and bolt restoration. Currently installed is a Funke 8.33 radio and a TRT 800 Mode S Transponder. Hangared at Headcorn airfield, Kent, England, this aircraft has always been very well looked after with no expense spared. Viewings by appointment only.
